Obituary

Alberta Ruth Lyons, 94 , of Lucasville, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at SOMC ER. She was born May 10, 1931 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late William Henry and Charlotte (Sadler) Gray. Alberta was fond of the outdoors and loved to travel and garden.

She is survived by two granddaughters, Jamie (Jay) Brown, Laura (Ty) Williams; a special nephew, Johnny Hill; three great grandchildren, Justin Lee (Emmy) Brown, Erin Gabrielle (Nate) Turner, Kirsten Nicole (Cody) Paynter; eight great great grandchildren, Abel Paynter, Isaiah Paynter, Roman Paynter, Tay Brown, Josiah Brown, Louie Brown, Mabel Kay Turner, Eloise Joy Turner; one sister, Christine Underwood; special friends and neighbors, Bill & Patty Laidley, Dave & Shuralee Laidley, Ryan Coriell and family, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Christopher F. Witten, David Lyons; a great grandson, Joshua Logan Alley; two brothers, Paul Gray, Robert Gray, and three sisters, Barbara Porter, Edith Durham and Rosemary Breech.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Scioto Burial Park in McDermott with Brad Hagen and Mike Simpson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
