Obituary

Anna Ruth Gampp, 78 , of Portsmouth, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026 at SOMC Hospice. She was born June 28, 1947 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Donald Ward and Mildred Frances (Nelson) Lemon. She obtained her bachelor's degree in nursing from The Ohio State University and her masters from Ohio University. Anna was a nursing professor at Shawnee State University, and a member of Sunshine Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children, Timothy (Jennifer) Gampp, Sarah Rice (Rob Deckert); four grandchildren, Katie Rice, Collin Rice, Zoe Gampp, Toby Gampp; three brothers, Donald (Bobi) Lemon, Michael (Cheryl) Lemon, Jeffrey (Dawn) Lemon, and two sisters, Ellen Lemon, and Donna Lemon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Gampp.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to SOMC Hospice, 2201 25th Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Sunshine Church of Christ with Jason Coriell and Jamie Riley officiating. Burial will be at Batterson Cemetery. Visitation will be at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service at the church. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
