Archie Ray Bailey, 80, of McDermott, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. Born February 17, 1937 in Lacey, Kentucky a son of the late James Thorton "JT" and Sarah Colvin Bailey, he was retired as a plumber, was a farmer, a US Army Veteran and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife Sue McFarland Bailey; daughter, Karen (Kevin) Chatfield; son, Albert (Mary Jean) Bailey; seven grandchildren, Captain Sara (Jesse) de Anda, Andrea Chatfield, Kelli (Ron) Barnette, Matthew Chatfield, Lydia Chatfield, Ryan Bailey, Laura Bailey; three great grandchildren, Darrien, Marius and Kieran; one brother, Tom (Mary) Bailey; one sister, Joyce (Jack) Williams, and many nieces, nephews and special friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Kathryn (Kack) Bailey Prater; one brother, James (Wink) Bailey, and three nephews, Dale Thornton Bailey, Jerry Prater and Bradley Glenn Williams. Memorial services will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford.
