Barbara Shoemaker, 81 of Oak Hill passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at her residence. She was born August 20, 1940 in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Oliver and Dorothy Allen Hilderbrant and was a homemaker. She is survived by three children, Stewart Matthew (Brooke) Shoemaker, Tammy Faye Shoemaker, Patty (Jeanie) Chapman; five grandchildren, David (Kristenia) Walk, Bobby Chapman, Jesse (Tiffany) Chapman, Logan Hines, Landon Hines; four great grandchildren, Alexandria Jade Walk, Conner Lee Walk, Maddison Paige Chapman, Mackenzie Noel Chapman; one brother, Arnold Hilderbrant, one sister, Patty French, and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Stewart Denver Shoemaker, Jr. on August 13, 2021; two sisters, Stella Smith, Abbie Hilderbrant, and three brothers, Warner Hilderbrant, Lester Hilderbrant, and Henry Hilderbrant. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Mack Walk officiating. Burial will be at White Gravel Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
