Betty Jean Bowman, 83 , of Portsmouth, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025 at her residence peacefully with her family. She was born July 20, 1942 in West Portsmouth, a daughter of the late George and Madilyn Ruth Grandin, and owned and operated a restaurant.

She is survived by four children, Charles Wesley Bowman, Florence (David) Pantele, Brenda (Mike) Harkless, Ruth Parker; her grandchildren, Erika Marie Lytle, Amber Payton, Davey Pantele, Jacob Fetty, Chelsea Hickman, Marshall Hatch, Shyann Parker Caudill, Sierra Parker, Levi Harkless; many great grandchildren, and one brother, George Grandin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bowman on November 22, 2010; one brother, Earl Grandin, and one sister, Donna Grandin.
