Betty Jean Kester, 91, of Minford passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Bridgeport Healthcare Center in Portsmouth.

Born February 2, 1930 in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of the late Leeman and Ruth (Headley) Headlee. Betty was a beautician, and was also a consession stand manager at Wheelersburg Go Kart Track. She loved to cook, and was known for her Sunday Family Dinners. Betty loved to travel with Gene and family, and was an avid bowler.

She is survived by a son, Dean Kester; a daughter, Teresa Kester (Wayne) Sparks; two grandchildren, Jason (Heather) Kester, Jessica (Scott Copas) Kester, and three great grandchildren, Ethan Copas, Joseph Kester, and Hadley Kester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gene Kester, and two sons, Gerald Kester in infancy and John Kester.

Funeral services will be conducted Noon Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Sam Peters officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.
