Christopher C. Potters, 70 of Portsmouth went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 9, 2023 peacefully at his home. Born August 16, 1953, Chris was a proud Marine, a loving husband, dad, and papaw. He loved to cook for family and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Peggy A. Potters.  He reared five children, Roger Maddix, Lee Slusher, Timmy Carver, Christopher Maddix, and Caiden Maddix; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; two brothers, James (Brenda) Potters, Ben Potters; one sister, Carol Nolan, and uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a brother in arms, Robert Ensign from Macon, Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Potters; mother, Iva Potters Smith; two sisters, Shannon Cunningham, Tammy Jarvis, and one brother in infancy, Stanley Potters.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Harrison-Furnace Cemetery with John Harless officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion and William A. Baker Post No. 363.
