Clarence Tackett, 80, of Piketon Road Lucasville, passed away Sunday November 27, 2016 at S.O.M.C. Hospice in Portsmouth. Born November 16, 1936 in Melvin, Kentucky a son of the late Grady and Myrtle (Newsome) Tackett, he retired from Empire Detriot steel in New Boston with 25 years of service, and then retired from Eastern Local Schools He was a member of Little Pearl Old Regular Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Paula (Croley) Tackett, five children, Sherrie (Randy) Frisby of Oak Hill, Renee (Mike) Johnson of Waverly, Lisa (Jim) Gilbert of Lucasville, Greg (Heidi) Tackett of Monticello, KY, Jim Tackett of Ashville: 9 grandchildren; 13 Grandchildren; one sister, Lola M. (Richard) Wells of Lucasville; and one sister-in-law, Janice Tackett of New Carlisle. He was preceded in death by one sister, Hester Thompson; five brothers, Eddie Tackett in infancy, Chester Tackett, Lester Tackett, Amos Tackett, and Ellis Tackett. Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 pm, Thursday Dec. 1, 2016, at Erwin-Dodson - Allen Funeral Home in Minford wih Elder Johnny Thornsberry and Elder Kenny Newsome officiating. Friends may call at Erwin - Dodson- Allen Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm and Thursday one hour prior to the service.
