Clarence F. Wells, 86, of Minford, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 at Adena Medical Center in Chillicothe. Born May 21, 1931 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Ora McKinley and Esta Marie Kallner Wells, he was a former employee of New Boston Coke Plant for 43 years, was a US Air Force veteran, and was of the Christian faith. He is survived by one son, Wayne Wells of Minford; three grandchildren, Tyler Slark of West Portsmouth, Jason Wells of Portsmouth, Jolynna (Paul) Dixon of Minford; three great grandchildren, and one sister, Etta Skaggs of Wheelersburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Ollie Gene Wells, Bonnie W. (Bear) Wells; one son, Anthony Dean Wells; two brothers, Isaac "Bill" Wells, Jack J. Wells, and two sisters, Velda Pfleger and Violet Owens.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery. Friends may call from Noon to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. Military graveside rites will be conducted by James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion and William A. Baker Post No. 363.
