Dan Rader, 85, of Wheelersburg passed away peacefully at home, with family by his side on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017. Born Nov. 15, 1932 and raised in Franklin Furnace. A son of the late Dan Rader Sr. and Anna (Gumbert) Rader. He was a very generous man who never came across a stranger. Dan served in the Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict. At home, he found a love for travel through independent truck driving and went by the C-B handle "Grey Ghost." Dan was an avid family man with an impressive gift for story telling. He is survived by two sons, Danny (Lisa) Rader, III of Minford, David (Sandy) Rader of Minford; three daughters, Shirley (Randy) Howard of Wheelersburg, Tina Rader of Wheelersburg, Ruth (Todd) Stephenson of Sciotoville, one brother, Jack (LaVon) Rader of Alabama; eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Bowling Rader; one daughter, Patsy Wells Rader; one granddaughter, Angie Charles Bailey; three brothers, his twin, Doug Rader, James Rader, John Rader, and four sisters, Beatrice Rader, Doris Evans, Dori Russell, and Margaret Myers.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Military grave side rites will be conducted by James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion and William A. Baker Post No. 363.
