Dennis Michael "Mike" Ridout, 83, of Minford, passed away peacefully at his residence on April 22, 2026. Born on April 1, 1943, in West Portsmouth, Mike lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his faith, and his community.
Mike proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, an experience that shaped much of his character and values. After his military service, he embarked on a career with Osco in Portsmouth. Mike was a member of Rubyville Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ollie Dennis and Virginia (Malott) Ridout; his wife Delores Ilene Ridout, who passed away on October 8, 2024; his son Michael Anthony Ridout; a granddaughter, Crystle Ridout, and one brother, Gary Ridout. These losses were deeply felt by all who knew him.
Mike is survived by his three cherished children: Patricia (Jeff) Ramsey, Christopher (Trina) Ridout, and Cindy Strain; eight grandchildren, Michael, Abagale, Courtenay, Amanda, Cassandra, Taylor, Emily, and Emerson; sixteen great-grandchildren: Michael, Archer, Ronin, Calista, Matthew, Elijah, Michael, Austin, Adalynn, Jayla, Mia, Maddox, Daxton, Ivy, Alivia, and James, and two brothers, Ernie Ridout and Gene Ridout.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Brian Baer officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the service. Military graveside rites will be conducted by James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion and William A. Baker Post No. 363. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
