Dewey Edward Newsome, 61 of Lucasville passed away Monday, October 17, 2022 at his residence. He was born June 25, 1961 in Portsmouth, a son of Elsie (Newsome) Johnson & Roy Johnson and the late Walter Dewey Newsome. In addition to his mother and step-father, he is survived by his mate of 34 years, Tammy Osburn; brother, Keith Newsome; two daughters, Amy Newsome, Brandy Newsome; grandchildren, Alexis Cochran, Charlie Newsome, Wyatt Newsome, Zack Williams; step brother, Ron Johnson; step sisters, Darla Wheeler, Kim Reed, Angel (Chuck) Bernard, Rhonda (Randy) Ellis, Lori (Blaine) Adams; his sister-in-law, Deanna (Chris) Pursley Caldwell; his best friends, Roger Reed and Charlie Thomas, and his ex-wife, Sheba Davidson. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Candy Newsome; his niece, Mykal Newsome; a grandson, Zane Williams; grandparents, Edward & Elsie (Lindamood) Pierce, Dewey and Ada (Snyder) Newsome; nephew, Charles Newsome, and his brother-in-law, Gary Osburn. Dewey was really an outgoing person, loved auctions, junking, and on his notebook along with wheeling and dealing, he liked working on cars, he was a welder, burner, boilermaker, and installed aluminum siding. Everyone liked him and he was plain spoken. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2022 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Mike Simpson officiating. Burial will be at Butler-Martin Cemetery in Minford. Friends may be call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.
