Emanuel “Bob” Moore Jr, age 96 (“working on 97”) passed away September 2, 2026, at Suncoast Hospice (Mid-Pinellas) Pinellas Park Florida. On January 4, 1930, Bob was born in Portsmouth Ohio to Emanuel and Edna Schomburg Moore.
He is survived by sons Daniel (Laura) Moore (Oak Harbor Washington), Scott Moore (St. Petersburg Florida), and Mark (Alyson) Owen (Dunedin Florida). Grandchildren include Justin Moore, Carrie Linville, Tiffany Pepsin, and Kyle Owen. Great grandchildren include Liliana Malone; Allyson and Abriana Linville; Bryant, Shaylee, Nora, and Aria Pepsin; Clemente Owen; and three great great grandchildren.
Also survived by stepchildren Stephen Melvin, Vicki Melvin, and Karen Casey; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends; and siblings Paul Moore, Harry Moore, Jerry Moore, Ruth Neff, Janet Rawlins, and Peggy Green.
Bob was preceded in death by parents; wife Norma Jean Etterling (married 1949; died 1995); wife Darlene Bayes Melvin (married 1997; died 2025); and siblings Jack Moore, Richard Moore, Eugene Moore, June Green, and Edna Lambert.
Bob, a 1949 Minford High School graduate, retired from the United States Air Force with 21 years of service. He resided in St. Petersburg Florida for thirty years engaging in various occupations including charter boats and transportation signage. Bob was a member of the Grace Brethren Church in Pinellas Park Florida. While residing in Ohio, he attended Candy Run United Baptist Church. In August 2025, he left Minford Ohio and returned to Florida to live with his son Scott.
Serving as a role model for family, friends, and colleagues, and as a person of faith, Bob was loving, kind, and generous to all knowing him. Bob’s favorite response to inquiries about his health was “every day is a blessing.”
Under the direction of Veterans Funeral Care in Clearwater Florida, on September 22, 2026, burial will be at the Webster National Cemetery in Bushnell Florida. Obituary coordination provided by Erwin Dodson Allen Funeral Home in Minford Ohio.
