Eugene Rockwell "Rocky", 89, of Owl Creek Road passed away Friday, September 2, 2016 at SOMC Hospice. Born March 6, 1927 on Owl Creek in Lucasville, son of the late James Albert & Gladys Marie Brigner Rockwell and his birth parents, Will and Addie Grover Rockwell. He was employed by Detroit Steel, retired as a janitor at Eastern Local School District and attended Word Alive Fellowship. He is survived by three daughters, Candy (Walter) Thornsberry of Beaver, Teresa (David) Hickenbottom and Bonny (Keller) Rockwell both of Owl Creek; seven grandchildren, Ricky (Sheila) Thornsberry, Debbie (Kevin) Campbell, Joey (Mindy) Thornsberry; Angie (Joe) Wheeler, Joshua (Stephenie) Hickenbottom, Dr. Drew (Kelly) Keller, and Dr. Isaiah (Harmoni) Keller, and eleven great grandchildren, Hunter and Levi Thornsberry, Zach Hickenbottom, Mallie and Maddox Wheeler, Carly and Tayva Hickenbottom, Malachi, Elijah and Caidence Keller and Judah Keller, and special friends, Mary and Frank Lott of Owl Creek. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ruthie F. (Pollard) Rockwell on November 10, 2010 and siblings, Marie King, Leslie Rockwell, Harold Rockwell, Dorothy Sampson, and Alice Murray. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 5, 2016 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Richard Struckle officiating.
