Obituary

Frances A. Murnane, 88, of Minford passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Concord Health & Rehab Center. Born April 9, 1928 in Fullerton, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Everett and Nannie L. Cox Vest, she was retired from Armco Steel in the blast furnace department and was the first female to retire from Armco Steel blast furnace. She was a member of Madison Missionary Baptist Church and was in the Portsmouth Bowling Leagues at Sunset & Rainbow Lanes. She is survived by one son, Gary Murnane of Wheelersburg; one daughter, Connie Armstrong of Minford; four grandchildren, Kris Grooms of West Union, Genoma Bender of Wheelersburg, Kimberly Pease of Portsmouth, Twilite Pack of South Webster; six great grandchildren; Kyle Grooms, Kelli Johnson, Haley Bender, Sarah Bender; Aidan Pack and Raegan Pack; three great great grandchildren, Levi Grooms, Liam Grooms and Jeremiah Johnson, and one brother, Paul Vest of Cincinnati. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius "Connie" Frank Murnane on December 27, 1979 whom she married in 1946; one son-in-law, Lester Armstrong; four brothers, Eugene Vest, William Vest, John Vest, Robert Vest; four sisters, Louise Copas, Sharon Vest, Wanda Pinson and Mary Irene Vest in infancy. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Madison Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Stephen Curry officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
