Gladys Sue Riggs, 97 of Lucasville mother of 18 children has passed away and gone to be with our Lord on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. She was born August 31, 1926, the daughter of the late Taylor and Ina Henson. She was a faithful member of Rubyville Community Church.

Gladys is survived by six sons and seven daughters, Gary L. Riggs, Chad B. (Amber) Riggs, James Avery (Sandy) Riggs, Troy A. (Stacey) Riggs, Elias E. (Tina) Riggs, Johnny M. (Dana) Riggs, Olivia S. Robertson, Betty L. (Ron) Hale, Beth Y. Van Houten, Janice E. (Kenny) Noel, Connie B. Lewis, J. Rebecca Pettigrew, and Melissa C. (Bear) Sammons. Gladys had many grandchildren, great, and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Grover Cleveland Riggs; five sons, Kenny, Danny, Grover, David and Charles, as well as her one sister and eleven brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Rubyville Community Church with Pastors Calvin Ray Evans and Brian Baer officiating. Burial will be at Universal Cemetery in Rubyville. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
