Gregory Wayne Deemer, 58, of Lancaster passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 at his residence. Born August 16, 1958 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, a son of Janice Walls Hartman and the late Curtis Deemer, he was a 1976 graduate of Marion Franklin High School, was a welder for C&R Welding in Columbus and General Electric ACSC in Cincinnati. He was a US Army veteran where he served three years active duty and three years active reserves. Greg enjoyed sports, war movies and westerns. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Tammy (Lear) Deemer; step-son, Nick Mares of Middlefield, Ohio; step-daughter, Tricia Mares of Middlefield, Ohio; three sisters, Paula (David) Carr of Pomeroy, Cheryl (John) White of Baltimore, Ohio, Marsha Deemer of Lancaster, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents. Funeral services will be conducted at Noon Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
