Helen Veronica Zimmer, 79, of Wheelersburg, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Best Care Nursing & Rehab Center. Born August 11, 1935 in Manhattan, New York, a daughter of the late John and Mary Regan Sweeney, she was retired from Verizon Telephone and was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Manhattan, New York. She is survived by two sons, Jerry (Rhonda) Zimmer of Wheelersburg and William James (Cecelia) Zimmer of Long Beach, CA; one daughter, Catherine (Hans) Finken of Manitoba, Canada; seven grandchildren, Brad Zimmer, Brian Zimmer, Brandon Zimmer, Tyler Holsinger, Zach Holsinger, David Zimmer and Christine Mello; one great granddaughter, Samara Mello; one sister, Ann (Fred) Riley of Port Jefferson, NY, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Joseph Zimmer; six brothers and sisters, Agnes, Margie, John (Dottie), Catherine (Nicky), James and Maureen. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church with Father Joe Yokum officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery.
