Homer C
Kelley
July 14, 1932 – July 21, 2021
On July 21, 2021 Homer C. Kelley, age 89, finished his earthly journey at SOMC Hospice and entered the gates of Heaven, where his wife, Betty was awaiting his arrival to enjoy the rest of eternity.
He was born July 14, 1932 in Blaine, Kentucky, to the late Sarah Ann and Herb Kelley. Homer was the last living sibling to Carl, Hob and Shirley.
Homer was a retired millwright out of Local 1519 with 55.6 years accredited. He enjoyed his farming, hunting, fishing and auto racing, but his priority and enjoyment was giving and being a living testimony for God. He was a member of Stoney Run Free Will Baptist in West Portsmouth, with many loving brothers and sisters in Christ.
In addition to his parents, siblings and wife he was preceded in death by two sons, Ed Matthews and Scott Kelley; a daughter, Connie Cooper; granddaughters, Tiffany Matthews, and Anicia Cooper; grandson, Cody Kelley; great-grandson, Rusty Elrod Conley; daughters-in-law; Candy Kelley and Velda Eggers; sons-in-law, Ronald Schaffer, Jack Lewis and Russ Cooper.
He is survived by sons, Homer Wayne (Kayla) Kelley of Wheelersburg, Rick Kelley of South Webster, Herb Kelley of Jackson; daughters, Vicky (Rodney) Hamilton of Stout, Dee Lewis of Minford, Crystal Kelley Lute (John) of Lucasville, Beverly Sue Schaffer of Ashland, Kentucky, and a special red headed step child, Kimberly (Mark) Edwards of Sciotoville.
Homer never met a stranger, and was loved by all – friends, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
