Howard Riley Childers, 82, of Stockdale passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. Born April 24, 1936 in Lucasville, a son of the late Jesse and Ora (Howard) Childers, he was a U.S. Army Veteran, a farmer, and retired from OSCO after 37 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Marie (Eldridge) Childers; a daughter, Marissa Joy Childers (David Brado); three grandchildren, Noah Childers, Carolyn "Gracie" Childers, Oliver Childers; a step grandchild, Elijah Shields, and a sister, Norma Childers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Stuart R. Childers, and three brothers, Harold Childers, Ralph Childers, and Art Childers.
