February 14, 1943 – June 11, 2024
James "Jim" Roscoe McGraw, 81 , of Minford, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at SOMC Hospice. He was born February 14, 1943 in Scioto County, a son of the late Wilbur James and Kathleen June (Dials) McGraw, and was the 1st to score a touchdown for Minford High School. He was retired from the N&S Railway where he was a brakeman/conductor for 33 years. Jim loved his kids, grandkids, making peanut butter fudge, and was known as the handy dandy candy maker. He was a member of Minford Bible Baptist Church and was the sucker man at church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Patty McGraw; one son, Brett (Paula) McGraw; three daughters, Rhonda (Bob) Porter, Jamie (David) Jenkins, Jodi McGraw; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Brad) Evans, Robby Porter, Sarah (Matt) Lloyd, Kyle (Courtney) McGraw, Devin (Matthew) Gullett, Darbie (JD) Widdig, Emi-Jo Hammond, Blake Hammond; twelve great grandchildren, Addi Lloyd, Austyn Lloyd, Noah McGraw, Maze McGraw, Havyn McGraw, Maverick McGraw, Olivia Porter, Braxton Porter, Zoie Evans, Daxton Miller, Ashlyn Miller, Aubrie Widdig; two brothers, Gary K. (Dianne) McGraw, Rex G. (Regina) McGraw; two sisters, Tonie A. (Steven) Cowgill, Tami D. (Brian) Cordle; sister-in-law, Alice McGraw, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Michael D. McGraw, and two sisters, Jennifer Sue McGraw, and Jackie (Joe) Somers. His best friend Web Conley welcomed him to Heaven.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Minford Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Brett McGraw and Pastor Kyle McGraw officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
