James "Rocky" Williams - Our beloved Rocky finished his journey here with us and entered into the goodness of the Lord, Friday morning May 5, 2017. Rocky was born on a warm summer day September 6, 1949 to the Reverend James and Annabelle Williams. He grew up in Minford, Ohio and graduated from Minford High School class of 1967. In 1976 Rocky married the love of his life, Frances, and they have three children. Rocky retired from Goodyear / Meridian in Jackson after 38 years of service. Rocky was a dedicated husband, daddy, papaw, and friend. Surviving him is his devoted wife Frances, and their children Amber (Chris) Paishon of Sciotoville, Clint (Athinna) Williams of Portsmouth, Carista (Brandon) Gamble of Minford and nine grandchildren who call him "Papaw" - Sully, Kammy, Becky, Emmy, Alena, Lexxy, Sarah, Ensley, and Enoch. He is also survived by a special cousin, Harold. Rocky was preceded in death by his loving parents James and Annabelle, a brother Mark in infancy, and his three best friends Ronnie, Wayne, and Steve. On June 25, 2015 Rocky dedicated his life to the Lord at an altar of prayer. Those of us who survive him have a living hope, that we too, can one day be with him in Glory. For scripture gives us this promise, "..to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord."
Arrangements were under the care of Erwin - Dodson - Allen Funeral Home in Minford. There were private graveside services at White Cemetery in Minford. Pastor Roy Chaffin and Brother Brandon Gamble officiated.
