John Lewis Coburn of Hillview in Portsmouth, went to be with his Heavenly Father, Thursday, October 5, 2017 at SOMC. He was born April 3, 1929 and is survived by his wife, Ella (Scott) Coburn. He was proceeded in death by John and Jeannie (Bennett) Coburn, and four sisters, Kathleen, Louella, Abbie and Alice. He is survived by three children, John A. (Tony) Coburn, Donna (William) Bayless, Karen (Larry) Simpson; nine grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren. He was a member and Ordained Deacon of the Charity Freewill Baptist Church. He worked as a general foreman for the Goodyear Atomic Plant until he retired in 1989. Funeral services will be conducted at Noon, Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Gary Dheel and Bud Mefford officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
