John Franklin Lewis, Sr. 85, of White Gravel Road, Minford, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Heartland of Portsmouth. Born December 17, 1933 in South Webster, Ohio, a son of the late John Gordon Lewis and Goldie Jane (Waddell) Lewis, he was a high voltage lineman and had worked for Collier Construction Company. He was an Army veteran and attended Grace Fellowship Church. He is survived by two sons, John F. (Genie) Lewis, Jr., Matthew (Tracie) Lewis; a daughter, Teresa Miller; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three half-brothers, William Lewis, Jerry Gordon Lewis, Lee Lewis; one half-sister, Linda Pyles; two sisters, Phyllis Flynn, Mary Lintzinger and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Libby" Lewis on November 13, 2018, whom he married on March 29, 1952.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with her nephew from West Virginia Kevin O'Neil, minister officiating.
