Joyce Ann (Oiler) O'Dell, 88, of Sciotoville, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at her residence. Born May 31, 1930 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late James and Katherine (Yeley) Oiler, she was secretary for Minford Elementary School retiring with 47 years of service, and was a member of Porter Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Connie (Tom) Townsend of Battle Creek, Michigan; Susan Walls of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; five grandchildren, Jill (Jamie) Fox, Jennifer (Adam) DeJans, Joshua (Rachel) Townsend, Samantha Walls, Taylor Walls; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon O'Dell on November 11, 1999; son, Roger O'Dell on February 1, 2014; three brothers, James Oiler, Larry Oiler, Leonard "Sonny" Oiler, and two sisters, Naomi Ruggles and Virginia Baer. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, Pastor Tom Townsend and Pastor Mark Price officiating. Burial will be in South Webster Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
