James Chester Ross, Jr., 72, of Portsmouth, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at SOMC. Born November 28, 1943 in Portsmouth, a son of the late James Chester Ross, Sr. and Freda May Royal Ross, he was production inspector at Empire Detroit Steel Corp. and a U.S. Navy veteran. He is survived by two daughters, Angel (Nathan) Augustin of Lucasville, Natalie Ross of Odessa, Texas; one son, Michael Ross of New Boston; two grandchildren, Addisyn Augustin and William Augustin, and two sisters, Angela (Ronald) Mercer and Patricia Ross. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Ross and one sister, Judy Rhoden. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2016 at Wheeler Cemetery in Lucasville. Arrangements are under the direction of Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford.
