Kathy Jane Bowling, 68, of Portsmouth, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Southern Ohio Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born on March 3, 1958, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of the late Carl and Verna (Stanley) Munyon and was a medical biller at Southern Ohio Nephrology .

A steadfast and beloved member of Sciotodale Free Will Baptist Church, Kathy’s faith guided all she did, radiating warmth and kindness among her congregation and her community. Her presence was a source of gentle strength and unwavering support to family and friends alike.

Kathy found her greatest joy in her family. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, and cherished her time spent with those dearest to her.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Michael R. Bowling; two sons, Chadd (Bronna) Bowling. Kirby (Alicia) Bowling; four grandchildren, Gaige, Bricen, Koltin, and Brady Bowling; her sister, Lora McManus; her brother, Ronald Munyon, and many nieces and nephews.

Kathy’s kindness extended not only to her immediate family but to all who entered her life. Truly, she was a cornerstone for many—always thoughtful, always loving, always ready to offer a helping hand or a comforting word.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, William and Marie Bowing; and her grandson, Preston Bowling.
