Kim Marie (DeVault) Lute, born on February 22, 1963, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 30, 2026.

Kim was a loving daughter, devoted wife, cherished mother, treasured grandmother, proud great-grandmother, faithful friend, and so much more to everyone who knew and loved her. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for others left a lasting impact on countless lives.

She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Donald and Irma DeVault; her stepfather, Fred Downing; her sister, Candy Hewitt; her father-in-law, Charles Lute; and her brother-in-law, Lawrence Lute.

Kim is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Scott E. Lute; her mother, Ruth Downing; her daughters, Andrea (Mike) Conrad and Christina (Aaron) Reed; her sons, Brandon (Tiffani) Lute and David Lute; her brother, Rick (Dawn) DeVault; her sisters, Sherry (Steve) Thomas and Debbie (Ronald) Drake; and, as Kim would say, "Sherry's brothers", Kenny (Patricia) Harmon and Millard (Katina) Harmon. She also leaves behind 13 deeply loved—and wonderfully spoiled—grandchildren, one great-grandson, and a plethora of nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Kim had a true servant's heart. She faithfully served others through her work as a real estate agent, her involvement with the Kiwanis, and in many capacities within her church. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, and invest her time in the lives of those around her.

Outside of serving others, Kim enjoyed cheering on her favorite teams and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals football fan. Whether celebrating victories or enduring tough seasons, she remained a loyal fan who loved sharing that enthusiasm with family and friends. As she always said, she'd "watch the Bengals lose to anyone."

Above all else, Kim devoted her whole heart to her family. Her grandchildren were her greatest earthly joy, and she loved each of them more than words can express. Most importantly, Kim loved the Lord Jesus Christ and remained a faithful believer until the very end. Her faith shaped the way she lived, loved, and served others.

Though our hearts grieve her absence, we do not grieve without hope. We rejoice in the assurance that Kim is now in the presence of her Savior, free from pain and welcomed into eternal rest. We look forward to the day when we will see her again. Until then, she will be deeply loved, forever remembered, and greatly missed.

Funeral services celebrating Kim's life will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Sciotodale Free Will Baptist Church, located at 1866 Shela Blvd., Portsmouth, OH 45662. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning promptly at 6:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to join together as we honor, remember, and celebrate a life so beautifully lived.

In honor of Kim, the family kindly requests that, if possible, attendees wear purple, her favorite color, as a tribute to the joy, love, and warmth she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her.
