Obituary

Leonard James Collier, 70, of Lucasville, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at his residence. Born August 8, 1946 in Portsmouth, a son of the late John William and Martha Elizabeth Gifford Collier, he was a former employee of Empire Detroit Steel and was owner and operator of Collier's Body Shop. He was a member of Charity Free Will Baptist Church and a US Vietnam Army Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Patty Breech Collier; two sons, Leonard James "Jamie" Collier of Lucasville, Lyle Joseph "Jody" (Kristy) Collier of Mississippi; one daughter, Lori Jean Collier of Minford; three step-children, Anthony (Susan) Perkins of Ostrander, Cindy Perkins of Galloway, Tammy (John) Perkins of Pataskala; three grandchildren, Emily Collier, Bryson Collier, Blake Collier; three step-grandchildren, Jessi Perkins, Mallory Perkins, Amber Perkins; two brothers, David (Sue) Collier, John (Mary) Collier, and five sisters, Juanita (Bill) Lute, Brenda (Ron) Barker, Mary (Miles) Horsley, Iva (Greg Rose) Collier, and Nina Mercer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Ruth Collier, and three sisters, Geraldine Collier, Barbara Loop, and Carol Jones. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2017 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Gary Dheel officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 to 1 p.m. prior to the service on Monday. Military graveside rites will be conducted by James Dickey Post No. 23 American Legion. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
