Obituary

Linda Grace Harris McGlone (Gracie) made her transition to the arms of Jesus peacefully at her home surrounded by family on May 18, 2026. She was born January 4, 1943 in Christiana, Tennessee to the late Lewis Dee and Ada Ray Harris.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melinda Gay, her husband, Lowell Gene, and her siblings John, Carol, Lewis, Jack, Betty.

She is survived by her sons Ashley (Mary) McGlone of Etna, Ohio and Jason (Ursula) McGlone of Piketon, Ohio. Eleven grandchildren, Levi, Noah, Luke, Allison, Madison, Laiken, Gunner, Gabriel, Beau, Eli, and Grayson. Fifteen great grandchildren, Jenna, Noel, Isaiah, Aryanna, Brantlee, Emma, Lainey, Aubrey, Paislee, Darren, Keagan, Able, Tayveon, Tanner, Elijah.

Throughout her childhood years she moved across the country with her family until settling down in southern Ohio.

She was a lifelong member of Rubyville Community Church where she attended and served until she became homebound and continued to participate via livestream.

A widow at age 44, she attended school to become an LPN and worked 12 years at Edgewood Manor of Lucasville until forced to retire early due to health issues.

Gracie (Linda) loved to travel, made multiple cross-country Amtrak trips, and liked watching the dashcam videos of Big Rig Travels on YouTube.

Over 60 years of her life were spent in close fellowship with "the sewing club", consisting of her dearest friends: Barb, Carole, Carolyn, Diane, and Sue. They shared many vacations, holidays, life events, and recipes over the years.

Gracie loved her family and friends dearly, hosting many family gatherings at her home where family favorites were her sweet tea and banana pudding.

She was most known for living out her middle name, Grace. She was an example of God’s grace and showed grace to everyone who knew her.

Visitation and funeral services will be hosted by Rubyville Community Church, 5365 State Route 139, Portsmouth, OH 45662 with Rev. Brian Baer officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, May 21, 5-8 PM. Celebration of life will be Friday, May 22, 11 AM, with visitation an hour prior and followed by interment at Universal Cemetery, returning to the church for a memorial meal. Family and friends out of town may view the service on the church's YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@rubyvillecommunitychurch3488). Arrangements are under the direction of Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, Ohio. Online condolences may be sent via www.edafh.com.
