Obituary

Loretta E. Coles, 87, of Lucasville, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 at her residence. She was born January 20, 1930 in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Harold Earl and Gladys Marie Clark Young. She was an elementary school teacher at Minford Local Schools and Grant Elementary School, was a member of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church where she was pianist and organist for several years. She is survived by three daughters, Vicki (Stephen) Crabtree of Lucasville, Teresa Coles of Lucasville, and Cindy (Richard) Colley of Lucasville; five grandchildren, Eric Crabtree, Nancy Coles Turner, Yolanda Colley, Sheresa Colley, and Farren Colley; nine great grandchildren, Ethan Crabtree, Elijah Crabtree, Elizabeth (Elle) Turner, Ayden Turner, Wayne Gilmer, James Gilmer, Aaron Gilmer, Chase Okey, and Alivea Colley; one brother, John Young of Hamilton; one sister, Margaret Theiss of Milford, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ralph Kenneth Coles; five brothers, Joseph in infancy, Harold E. Young, Jr., James A. Young, David R. Young, Frank E. Young, and two sisters, Bessie Ketter and Bettie Young. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Palla officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Eastern Star services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 291, Wheelersburg, Ohio 45694.
