Obituary

Lovell Dwaine Godfrey, 81 , of Clarktown, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025 at his residence. He was born April 7, 1944 in Jefferson Township, Lucasville, Ohio, a son of the late Chester Arthur and Agnes Ruth (McMillen) Godfrey. Dwaine retired from the A-Plant where he was a Process Operator, a member of Lucasville Masonic Lodge #465, and ran the OK Slot Cars Business.

He is survived by his wife of  62 years, Dearie (Slack) Godfrey; his children, Angela Sue Lute, Anthony Dwaine (Cindy) Godfrey, Theodore Chester Godfrey; seven grandchildren, Daniel (Alicia) Jarvis, Aaron (Alisha) Jarvis, Arista (Daniel) Treadway, Candy Baker, Jordan (Tana) Godfrey, Dakotah Godfrey, Meagan Hall; fourteen great grandchildren, Zach, Daniel, Aaron, Carson, Gannon, Janie, Brayden, Sebastian, Scarlet, Daisy, Ashton, Eemilia, Uzziah, Jair, and aunts, uncles, cousins, and very close friends.

The family would like to thank the caregivers for the wonderful care and comfort given.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2025 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Chris Oiler officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
