Lovetta Ruth Reed, 82, of Portsmouth passed away at Southern Ohio Medical Center on July 5, 2015. Born September 21, 1932 in Adams County, the daughter of the late David N. and Nellie (Jones) DeAtley, she was a homemaker. Preceded by her husband, G. Clifford Reed whom she married October 29, 1948; a son, Lowell C. Reed; granddaughter, Rhonda Reed; brothers, Bill DeAtley, Robert De Atley; sisters, Alice Mae DeAtley, Dorothy Smith and Patty DeAtley. She is survived by two sons, Roger Reed of Leesburg, Fl, Mike (Becky) Reed of Columbus; three daughters, Helen Grant of Portsmouth, Donna (Tagg) DeVillez of Hamilton, and Mary (Tim) Brown of Wheelersburg; one sister, Willota Bernard of Columbus; one brother, Franklin DeAtley of Minford; sister-in-law, Darlene DeAtley of Portsmouth; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Roy Chaffin officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
