Obituary

Rev. Lucy Dingess, 80, of Lucasville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the home of her daughter Kim. Born January 17, 1935 in Mima, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Newell Mance and Marie (Keaton) Dyer, she was a homemaker and a foster parent for 14 years. An ordained minister, she attended Temple of Faith Church in West Portsmouth for 28 years, and attended Pentecostal Victory Chapel in Sciotoville. She was in the Army during the Korean War, and was stationed at Ft. Sam in Houston, Texas as a nurse. She is survived by one son, Lorne R. Dingess of Lucasville; four daughters, Johnna (Timmy) Bush, Kimberly (Michael) Davis, Tammy Charles, and Sheila Dingess all of Lucasville; 8 grandchildren, Kelley Alley, Timothy Bush, Matthew Dingess, Britney Sexton, Cody Sexton, Katie Dingess, Teresa Reed, Austin Brown; 4 great grandchildren, Cheyanne Davis, John Dillon Alley, Chantell Bush, Caden John Bush; one great great grandchild, Kensley Davis, and one sister, Mamie Gilliam of Columbus. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Dingess on February 13, 2009 whom she married July 19, 1955; one son, Anthony Paul "Tony" Dingess on November 17, 1979; one son-in-law, Timmy Bush; one grandson, Michael Davis; one brother, Thomas "Dood" Dyer, and one sister, Myrtle Potter. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen in Minford with Keith Webb officiating. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lucasville. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
