Marie Coriell Mower, 99 of Portsmouth passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022 at SOMC Hospice. She was born May 6, 1923 in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Earl Otto and Marie Day Nourse, she was a nurse's aide at Mercy & Southern Hills Hospitals and a former employee of Sears and Millhuffs. Marie attended Wheelersburg Church of Christ. She is survived by one daughter, Jessie (Randy) Glass of Oviedo, Florida; eleven grandchildren, Ryan Coriell, Ira Coriell, Josh Coriell, Christie Law-Coriell, Renee Coriell, Nicole Spriggs, Mark Coriell, Tammy Glass, Amanda Ellis, Kelly Glass, William Glass; nineteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two daughters-in-law, Pam Coriell, Cathy Coriell, and a special niece and nephew, Linda and Lynn Wessel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Ira M. Coriell, Jr.; her 2nd husband, Orville Mower; three sons, Emerson R. Coriell, Henry E. Coriell, Ira Coriell; four brothers, Earl Nourse, Jr., Howard Nourse, Eugene Nourse, Paul Francis Nourse, and one sister, Jessie Beloat. The family would like to give special thanks to Minford Retirement Center and SOMC Hospice for their many acts of kindness shown to Marie. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2022 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Lynn Wessell officiating. Burial will be at Batterson Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
