Mary Loretta Jenkins, 79 , of Portsmouth passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023 at SOMC Hospice. She was born January 17, 1944 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Howard and Irene Nicely Messer. Mary was a Home Healthcare Aid.

She is survived by four sons, Charles Pitts, Earl Pitts, Tim Pitts, Dayne Pitts; six daughters, Tanya Joyner, Rotonda Hay, Rovella Scally, Betty Terhorst, Bobbi Holsinger, Virginia Brunner; 30+ grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; three brothers, Wagner Messer, Walter Messer, Albert Messer; two sisters, Anita Rouse, Candace Gire, and her beloved dog, Duke.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Junior Messer, and four sisters, Evangeline Messer, Eleanor Messer, Agnes Winters, Robin Messer.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2023 at Squire Cemetery in Minford with Larry Blevins officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
