Obituary

Mavis Hall-Crabtree, 78 of Minford passed away Monday, November 1, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Born March 12, 1943 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late John Wesley and Dovie Gillum Sparks, she was a former employee of Marting's Department Store, Goody's and also worked at National Bank in Sciotoville. Mavis loved watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, Kentucky Wildcats and NASCAR. She attended Sciotodale Feewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Ron Crabtree; two daughters, Kristi Parker, Sam (Tony) Oberley; three grandchildren, Lindsey (Josh) Marotti, Daryl Oberley, David (Leanna) Oberley; five great grandchildren, Draven Savage, Dil Frasier, Jaxon Oberley, Addalee Oberley, Evelin Oberley, and two sisters, Ranie Justice and Jonnie Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bernard Hall; three brothers, Vick in infancy, Orville Sparks, Rick Sparks, and three sisters, Frances Wooten, Ruby Ball, and Gertrude Kazee.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2021 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Aaron Reed officiating. Burial will be at Scioto Burial Park in McDermott. Friends may call at the funeral home from Noon to 2:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sciotodale Freewill Baptist Church, 1866 Shela Blvd., Portsmouth, Ohio 45662. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
