Melanie Denise Fetters Evans, age 65 , of Clarktown, Ohio, peacefully passed away into the arms of Jesus surrounded by her family on August 20, 2024 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Melanie was born at Mercy Hospital in Portsmouth, Ohio on March 6, 1959 to the late Roy Dean and Patricia Ann Fetters of Clarktown, Ohio.

Melanie was very active in 4-H, Rainbow Girls and sports during her school years. She ran track and was a cheerleader at Valley High School in Lucasville, Ohio. She met her high school sweetheart the late Randy Evans whom she married and has two children. She was an avid sports fan, loved cooking, and home decorating. She was also a loving grandmother of five grandchildren.

Melanie leaves behind her two children, Christy (Nick) Savage of Greenup, Kentucky, and Ryan (Thomara) Evans of Clarktown, Ohio. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Lilly, Samuel, Willow, Ava and Cayden; her sisters, Brenda (Andy) Gerlach, Stephanie (Kevin) Gillum, her brother, Jeff Fetters, and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Please join us to honor Melanie's life at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024 with Pastor Calvin Ray Evans of Rubyville Community Church officiating. Melanie's resting place will be at Scioto Burial Park in McDermott. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
