Merrie Christine Turner, 63, of Minford, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 at SOMC Hospice. Born December 25, 1952 in Dayton, a daughter of Carolyn Louise McFarland Tolle of Peebles and the late John R. Badgett, she was a homemaker, an EMT for Clay Squad II, Minford Squad 3 and Life Ambulance. She was an assistant EMT instructor at Shawnee State University, was a Rubyville Volunteer Firefighter, and attended Minford Community Church. Merrie loved to hand quilt and cross-stitch. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Jim Turner of Minford; one daughter, Stephanie (Vaughn) Walburn of Minford; one sister, Sarah Stout of Peebles, and nephews. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Badgett. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Ed Cox officiating.
