Obituary

Michael William Ramey, 68 of Portsmouth passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 at SOMC. He was born May 9, 1953 in Portsmouth. Mike was retired from USEC, drove a bus for Vern Riffe School and faithfully attended Candy Run Wesleyan Tabernacle. He was an avid flea marketer, he loved to sing, fish, and the Scioto County Fair. Mike never met a stranger, his family and friends were very important to him and loved them dearly.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, William Eugene Ramey and his mother, Joyce Ann Locher Almberg.

He is survived by his wife, Faith Bloomfield Ramey; his mom, Joyce Ramey; one son,  Andy (Rachel) Ramey; one daughter, Michelle (Randy) Meldau; five grandchildren, Karissa (Dakota) Crawford, Abby Hurst, Austin Hurst, Drew Ramey, Emilee Ramey; one great grandchild, on the way, Deklan Crawford; two brothers, Rick (Rita) Ramey, David (Tammy) Ramey; two sisters, Crystal (Jeff) Craft, Debbie (Kent) Park; several nieces and nephews, and many special friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Candy Run Wesleyan Tabernacle with Pastor Andy Ramey officiating. Burial will be at Rosemount Cemetery. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. The family requests because of Mike's illness and in the interest of keeping everyone safe during this difficult time that masks be worn at visitation and the funeral and will be required for entry.
