Nancy K. Bateman, 81 , a resident of Minford, died Monday, July 11, 2022, at her daughter's home in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born November 5, 1940, a daughter of the late Sherman Mershon and Mary Elizabeth (Blake) Mershon. Nancy was preceded in death by her late husband Dan Bateman, and is survived by two sons, Tim Bateman of Minford, John (Eriko) Bateman of Tokyo, Japan and one daughter, Julie (Brian) Hill of Cincinnati.  She leaves behind six grandchildren; Austin Bateman, Bryce (Amelia) Hill, Ellie Hill, Christopher Hill, Milo Bateman and Julian Bateman, one great grandchild, Wilda Hill. She is also survived by four siblings, two sisters; Polly (Frank) Youngwerth of Hudson, Ohio, Mary (Edward) Martin of Delaware, Ohio, and two brothers Jerry Mershon of Honolulu, Hawaii and James (Robin) Mershon of Newcomerstown, Ohio. Upon graduating from East High School in Sciotoville in 1958, Nancy entered the medical laboratory technician training school at Mercy Hospital.  She graduated from this program and was employed by Mercy Hospital and then Southern Ohio Medical Center, completing more than 25 years of service upon her retirement.  She truly loved her job and the friendships that she made there. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2022 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Rev. Bernie Tilley officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
