Obituary

Phyllis Lorraine Seidel, 86 , of Minford, passed away and went into the arms of Jesus on Saturday June 8, 2024.

Born March 24, 1938, in Rubyville, a daughter of the late Escom and Hazel (Walker) Borders, she was a homemaker and had worked as a clerk for Minford Pharmacy for over 25 years. She graduated from Minford High School in the class of 1956 and loved her Mighty Minford Falcons. As a faithful servant of God, she was a dedicated member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church. She sang in the choir, was a lector and eucharistic minister, while also being a part of the Ladies Guild.

Phyllis lived life to the fullest and always enjoyed a great adventure. She loved to travel, shop, watch family sporting events, and a good cup of coffee! If you heard her whistle, you knew who it was! She loved to run around with her best friend, Mary Jo Pritchard, when you saw one, you saw the other. Her family meant the world to her, and she was their biggest fan. She was a bright light who lived big but loved bigger.

She is survived by her husband, Carl David Seidel, whom she married on May 18, 1957, and had seven children; Christopher (Diana) Seidel, Steven Seidel, Charles (Tracy) Seidel, Teresa Seidel, Sharon (Toby) Sheets, Amy (Gary) Gaines, and Deborah (Brent) Daniels; 15 grandchildren; Christopher, Megan, Steven, Daniel, Ashley, Kelsey, Andrew, Laura, Shelby, Sydney, Ethan, Tyler, Casey, Eli, and Erin; 13 great-grandchildren; Easton, Laiken, Preston, Parker, Gabriel, River, Taylor, William, Connor, Charleigh, Carsyn, Carter, and Beau.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two sisters, Juanita and Carol and son-in-law Tim Risner.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday June 13, 2024, at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church and cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, with a recitation of the Rosary to follow.  Online condolences may be made to: www.edafh.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Hospital.
