Ralph Harrison Conkel, 82, of Minford, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Ohio State University Hospital. Born December 22, 1933 in Scioto County, a son of the late Everett and Madge (Childers) Conkel, he was a new creature in Christ through the many prayers of the Minford Church of the Nazarene, was a switch engineer for Yellow Freight Company, and a member of the local Teamsters. He is survived by his wife, Judy (Henson) Conkel; two sons, Ralph (Bea) Conkel, Ted (Amy) Cregger; three step-daughters, Teena (Scott) Dawson, Tracy (David) Ansell, Missy (Billy) Bowles; two brothers, Jimmie R. Conkel, Leo Branson Conkel; four sisters, Helen Tomilson, Dorothy Doss, Geraldine McKenzie, Marilyn Adkins, and many grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Glen Conkel; a sister, Judy Chapman; two brothers, Michael Harvey Conkel and Freddie Everett Conkel. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Minford Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Mark Bales officiating. Friends may call at the church from Noon to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday.
