Richard V. Daniels, 73 of Minford passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. He was born May 31, 1950 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Gerald and Emma Webb Daniels, he was a 1968 Minford High School graduate, retired from SOCF, and was a former employee of Herman's Meats and Western Southern Life Insurance.  He was a member of the US Army National Reserve.  Rick was an avid hunter and fisherman and liked to compete in the Jackson Lake Fishing Tournament with his group, Chubby Chasers. He enjoyed his cats, chickens and gardening. He was also a former Minford Softball Coach for 17 years, and loved to support his grandchildren in their sporting events at Minford, Ashland University Women's Basketball and Rio Grande Baseball.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Childers Daniels; son, Brent (Deborah) Daniels; a grandson, Eli (Megan) Daniels, and a granddaughter, Erin Daniels. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Daniels, and one sister, Edna Slone.
