Richard C. Havens, 79, of Lucasville, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. Born May 11, 1937 in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of the late James C. and Averill V. (Shumway) Havens, he was a retired chemical operator for Lockheed Martin. He was a member of Sunshine Church of Christ where he served as Deacon. He is survived by his wife, Rose Ann (Rayburn) Havens; a son Robert James Havens at home; three daughters, Jayne A. (Michael) Bouts of Cincinnati, Kathryn M. (Gary) Glispie of Wheelersburg, and Cindy (Ryan) Coriell of Lucasville; seven grandchildren, Ryan Bouts, Heather Bouts, Garris Coriell, Joanna Glispie, Kayleigh Coriell, Chris Glispie, Kyle Glispie, and a sister, Doris McGlone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George Ray Havens and James Havens.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2016 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Jamie Riley and Jason Coriell officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
