IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rita Kay
(Deatley) Bosworth
August 27, 1949 – November 2, 2025
Rita Kay Bosworth, age 76 , entered her Heavenly Home on November 2, 2025 at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.
She was born on August 27, 1949 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Bob and Wilma DeAtley. Rita grew up in Minford, Ohio where she spent her early years surrounded by family and friends. On August 5, 1972, she married the love of her life, Tim Bosworth, and together they shared over five decades of love, faith and family.
Rita accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior while in junior high and devoted her life to faithfully serving Him. One of her favorite Bible verses was Psalm 119:165; a verse that reflected her peace and the steadfast faith she carried throughout her life.
A proud graduate of Cedarville University, Rita earned her degree in education and began her career teaching English and Reading at the high school level. After raising her three children, she returned to the classroom, completing her Master's degree and dedicating many years to teaching eighth grade special education at Warner Middle School in Xenia, Ohio. Her genuine care for her students touched countless lives.
Rita had a creative and nurturing spirit. She loved exploring new recipes, cooking for those she loved, and was especially known for her famous banana bread-a family favorite that will long be remembered.
Rita is survived by her devoted husband, Tim Bosworth; her three beloved children: Ben Bosworth, Dan (Denise) Bosworth, and Suzy (Josh) Stoll; and her daughter-in-law: Nicole. She was a cherished grandmother to Drew, Owen, Olivia and Andrew. She is also survived by her dear cousin-like a sister-Jeanne Moore; her brother: David DeAtley and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Gerald DeAtley.
A celebration of her life will be held 3 PM Saturday, November 8th at Grace Baptist Church, 109 N. Main St., Cedarville, Ohio with visitation beginning at 2 PM until the time of service. She will be buried at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Minford, Ohio privately. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Benevolent Fund at Grace Baptist Church, in Rita's memory. Rita's faith, kindness, and love for her family will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
