Roger Leroy Ackerman, 74 of Minford passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at Chillicothe VA Medical Center surrounded by love. He was born June 4, 1949 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Raymond and Tena Taylor Ackerman, he was a former employee of New Boston Steel Mill, was a plastic engineer, and was a carpenter. Roger was in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam where he earned, a Bronze Star with V device, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He is survived by and dearly loved by four sisters, Diana (Lee) Lawson, Nancy (Mike) Nash, Mary Slusher, Brenda Lambert; one brother-in-law, Tim Burton, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Burton; two brothers-in-law, Dave Lambert, James Slusher; a nephew, Roger Rowe, and, was the oldest grandson of the late Horace and Betty Taylor and John and Grace Fox.

Keeping with Roger's wishes his ashes will be buried in Goddard Cemetery in Wallingford, Kentucky. A memorial will be set for a later date at the graveside.
