Obituary

Roger Dale Roberts, 76, Portsmouth, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at SOMC. He was born on August 31, 1950, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of the late Elsie Parker and Betty (Roberts) Williams.

Roger was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, a part of his life that reflected his strength, discipline, and commitment to service. He was also a member of the Navy Club in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In his working years, he was an ironworker, was a member of the U.A.W., and also worked for the railroad. Those roles spoke to a life shaped by hard work, dedication, and pride in a job well done. Roger loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors.

Above all, Roger will be remembered by those who knew and loved him most. He is survived by his wife, Dawn Roberts; his daughter, Cristine Kapp; his sons, Phillip Krider, Nicholas Krider, Michael Krider, Lucas Krider; twelve grandchildren, one great grandchild, and four brothers, Charles Williams, Robert Williams, Bret Williams, and Donald Williams. Each of them carries forward the memory of his life and the place he held in their hearts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Aaron Krider, whose memory remained an important part of his family’s story.

Roger Dale Roberts will be remembered with love, respect, and gratitude for the life he lived and the family he leaves behind.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
