Sarah Marie Gilliland, 90 , of Minford, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at SOMC Hospice. She was born April 27, 1935 in Minford, a daughter of the late Allen Charles and Mabel Clara (Bennett) Kallner, and she was the head cook for Minford Local Schools.  She was a long time member of Sunshine Church of Christ and also attended Piketon Church of Christ.

She is survived by one son, Doug Gilliland; two daughters, Tisha Mizer, Terri Young; daughter-in-law, Penny Gilliland; five grandchildren, Daryl Young, Kyle (Lori Powell) Gilliland, Shaun (Irish) Young, Jessica (Cody) Compton, Amy (Tyler) Spriggs; none great grandchildren, Eric (Ashley) Young, Bryanna (Eli Dunn) Young, Ashleigh (Robbie) Leslie, Matthew Young, Allyson Young, Allie Spriggs, Kinlee Compton, Elijah Young, Caleb Young; three great great grandchildren, Xavier Young, Carly Young, Zeke Leslie, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell D. Gilliland; three brothers, Charles Kallner, Forrest Kallner, David Kallner; three sisters, Amanda Montgomery, Ada Bradbury, Ruth White; her dog, Snickers, and her cat, Patches.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Jason Coriell officiating. Burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
