Sharon (Blackburn) Veach, 86 of Minford passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Portsmouth on June 7, 1936 to the late York and Wilba (Chandler) Blackburn. A devoted daughter, wife, and mother, Sharon was loved and will be missed very much by those who knew her. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert Ray Veach on March 4, 2012 whom she married on June 18, 1955. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Duranda Smith. She is survived by two sons, Mark (Dee-anna) Veach of Minford and Craig (Gayle) Veach, also of Minford; three grandchildren, Sarah (James) Scaff, Matthew Veach, Vanessa (Breck) Finzer, and one great grandson, Gabriel Scaff. Sharon graduated from Minford High School in the class of 1954 and briefly worked at Williams Shoe Factory in Portsmouth before becoming a wife and homemaker. She had a deep and abiding faith in God and His Son and attended White Gravel Community Church where she served as Treasurer for many years. She enjoyed flower arranging, cooking, landscaping, the holiday season, going to the movie the theater, and her big TV. Friends and relatives may attend a graveside service at White Gravel Cemetery on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with James Dummitt officiating.
